But you'd hardly notice the difference! We work for 90 minute sessions followed by a 30 minute break to ensure that you don't get Zoom fatigue. For this reason the workshop is spread over 5 days instead of the usual 4 days. (Don't be fooled by the manual cover.) To keep you safe during the Covid pandemic and to allow access for those who can't travel, we have moved our professional training online. But the Gift of Dyslexia online is still the Gift of Dyslexia. This is no dry webinar. We employ a host of creative innovations to ensure the same dynamic, hands-on experience you would expect from any Davis methods workshop. Features of the online workshop experience include:

Davis Learning Strategies Workshops - North Island
Whanganui, New Zealand
In person, 2 days 8:30am - 5pm
Next dates TBA.
Please contact us if you would like one in your school.
The Davis Learning Strategies® Workshop represents six years of working with Davis Methods in the classroom. It was developed to give Year 1-4 classroom teachers’ unique strategies to give their students life-long skills in how to learn, and provide effective reading instruction. It is a strategy-based programme that builds on early school-based teaching in phonics and phonetic decoding by using clay modeling of high-frequency and basic sight words.
The workshop format and contents were researched and developed by a teacher who has over 20 years’ experience in classroom teaching, curriculum development and teacher mentoring. The Davis Learning Strategies® methods were created and developed by Ronald D. Davis, author of The Gift of Dyslexia and The Gift of Learning. Numbers are limited to 20. (Minimum numbers do apply.) Early bird registration $775 + GST due 1 month beforehand Regular price $885 + GST within 30 days of workshop. Registration and payment is required 15 days before workshop. Date and Time Schedule
(short breaks are factored into the sessions) Face-to-face Workshops can be in Wanganui NZ, or at your own school. Minimum numbers apply. The workshop is 2 days, 8:30am-5pm each day. Dates to be mutually agreed. Online Workshop is spread over 5 sessions. You MUST be available for all 5 sessions as it is very hands on. This option is great for those kaiako (teachers) that don't live near Whanganui (NZ), have almost exhausted their toolkit and need something else for their class of 2020. They can implement Davis Learning Strategies from the first day of term, receiving a little bit more information each session. This allows the kaiako the opportunity to continue to practice with their class, building on the sessions delivered prior. |
All workshops have a minimum number to confirm the workshop. Please do not make travel bookings or irrevocable arrangements without sufficient insurance until the workshop is confirmed. DDA Pacific will not be responsible for any costs incurred associated with travel and cancellation.
